A Day InLiverpool

Jenny and Ian- my sister and her husband- are visiting us. Yesterday we went over to Liverpool.

We took them to Crosby to look at Anthony Gormley's iron men. The tide was further out than I've ever seen it- and I was able to walk out to view a Gorm who spends much of his time underwater. He's very crusty.

The Tate Gallery at the Albert Dock is closed on Mondays. We should have checked before we set off. Instead we went round The Slavery Museum.

Since I was last at the Albert Dock it has acquired this lively statue of the rock and roller, Billy Fury.

Albert Dock has the largest concentration of Grade 1 listed buildings in the UK. Here Jenny and Ian admire the Dock Office, which served for a while as Granada TV's local HQ

Finally, here's a view across the Dock towards the Liver building- with its birds
