Apple Sauce [Oct. 19th, 2004|07:52 pm]

I don't rate myself as a cook, but today I made a really good apple sauce.
It was largely improvised.


10-12 apples off my father-in-law's trees, cut into chunks with the peel still on
A half glass of white wine
A teaspoon of cinnamon
A whole orange, cut into quarters.

Method: Simmer until soft, then blend.

Ailz said "add a little water", but the wine was standing there on the counter just asking to be used.

That sounds yummy...My tutor used to make me some homemade apple sauce. It was so delicious; it made me really happy, because she was more like an aunt than a teacher :)

It's easy to make. Just a little chopping is all it takes. I hate having to hang about in the kitchen:)

hmm... i used to make apple sauce with water and a bit of nutmeg, but i may have to try wine and an orange now...
