Number Plates

We discovered yesterday evening- just in time to do something about it- that the new car's number plates didn't entirely tally with what was on the tax disc. I'd always thought (insofar as you do think about this sort of thing) that number plates were issued by the licensing authority. Now I know different. Ailz rang the dealership at five o'clock to point out the discrepancy, the salesman checked his papers, found that the plates were indeed wrong- and by the time we'd driven down there (which took about fifteen minutes)- he'd had a whole new set printed out.
