Honeysuckle [Jun. 30th, 2010|09:25 am]
Tony Grist
I needn't have worried about the honeysuckle. Honeysuckle is hardy. Having been cut back from the wall by the workmen earlier this year, it has taken off in the other direction with renewed vigour, using the holly trees as a climbing frame. There's not enough of it to create a cloud of scent- there never was- but if you stand around in the backyard you keep getting wafts of it.

It is the one plant in my garden that really benefits from a good prune! You definitely need more than one plant to get the scent cloud - I have three, with different-coloured flowers, which are growing into each other and the smell is lovely (bordering on a bit over-powering).
