The Kids Are Alright

In the morning we listened to Alice publicising her book on the BBC. She did two interviews- five minutes on Radio Manchester with Heather Stott and ten on Radio Leicester with Rupal Rajani.  In the interval- having popped out of the studio to the local shops- she rang us up- and we assured her she'd done good.  Yesterday was also her birthday and-  what with the excitement over the book and the interviews- I only remembered to wish her "many happies" at the very last minute.

In the afternoon we went down to Ruth's to say "hi" to Matt who is home on a short break from his work on and around the Hadron Collider at Cern. We had a long, leisurely, mid afternoon lunch at which we drank a very delicious, Australian Shiraz from a bottle with Ned Kelly's face on the label and to which I contributed an apple cake.
