We came back from a tutorial- where we'd been discussing what it might mean to call Cymbeline "eccentric"- to find a ladder propped against the front of our house and Carl at the top of it,  patching up the woodwork.  Some of it is pretty far gone- and to demonstrate just how far he jabbed his finger an inch-deep into a window frame. His repairs may see us through a couple more winters, he says, but then we'll need to replace everything.

I don't want to think about it- so I won't.

La-la-la-la-la.

Now, about Cymbeline....

Yikes. We have a leaky roof, I commiserate.

And yet...who knows what will happen over the course of "a couple more winters".

Well, exactly.

Let's just take things a day at a time....

Our house had reached that point. We've been working on it... a bit at a time.

We've had quite a lot of work done over the past couple of years- but it never stops, does it? You see to one job and then another crops up....

Replace everything?

I think you are wise: La-la-la.

When he said "a couple more winters," I bet he meant "ten winters."

Ten winters. Yes, I think that's what he meant too.

I think repairmen always mean "ten" when they say "a couple."

BTW, Kate will be enchanted that you have another bunny. She likes the idea of your rabbits up and down the stairs and under the chairs. And I told her about the wallpaper. She thinks you are wonderful, and so do I.

Kate's all-time favorite book is Watership Down, but I can't make my way through it. Having seen the movie, I know about all those rabbit fights in the warren.

Rabbits are terribly fierce. Not cuddly at all.

I like it that this new bunny is prepared to stand up for herself. She pounces on any sudden movement, but approach her gently, and she'll eat out of your hand- literally.

Aw. She's pretty, too.

Kate had a rabbit named June when she was young. We gave the rabbit away when we moved, and the man we gave her to said June's long-pent-up lust terrorized his own rabbit. He had to separate them quickly.

I should have said, "fierce and randy".

Are the other rabbits liking her yet?

We haven't let them mingle yet. They've stopped trying to pounce on one another, but the other female still attempts to bite her through the wire.
