The Color Purple

I'm reading The Color Purple. It's a crusading novel- a 20th century Uncle Tom's Cabin- and crusading novels wither very quickly. But it's readable and the characters have depth even if their primary rationale is as teaching aids.

I'm off to the dentist. Dental treatment on the National Health is one of the great, great benefits of being a free-born Brit.
