The sacking of Tucker Carlson from Fox News removed the last significant independent voice from mainstream media.
I came to him very recently- when independent journalists I respect started saying, "Would you believe it? Here's a mainstream journalist who doesn't allow the elites to write his scripts." Before then I steered clear of Fox as a matter of principle. I don't suppose his politics are my politics, but on the important issues we agree. He thinks government is corrupt and not to be trusted and so do I. He thinks war is wicked and so do I. These are the fundamentals. Everything else is a Punch and Judy show.
Get the fundamentals right and we can start having civilised(?) debates about the culture wars that the media stokes to keep us angry and distracted.
Tucker's dismissal has cost Fox a ton of money and a whole lot of viewers and serve them right!
