Faking It

I got up and looked out the window. The glass was bobbled with raindrops and the hills were hidden by mist and I pulled a face, signifying disapproval. There was no-one around to see the face I pulled so why do it? Especially since I actually rather like rainy, misty mornings.

Was I trying to fool myself? Nice try- and, you know, it almost worked.

It's not hard to convince oneself that one's feelings are other than they are- especially if one is faking them in line with conventional wisdom.
