I don't remember the occasion. It's obviously a posed shot. My best guess is that it was taken at a school open day- possibly for publication in the local paper.
That's me on the right, demonstrating how the lungs work. I forget what the other kid was called; I want to say "Ellis" but I think that's because I'm conflating him with someone else.
He was a brainy chap. I think you can tell. My only certain memory of him is that we were once in a boxing match (all above board, with adult supervision) and I knocked one of his teeth out.
