Butterflies.

Judy, who is Jewish, writes about being approached by this little blond kid- Tennessee through and through- who is angsting about having been cast as a fast-talking Jewish entrepreneur in his school play and is terrified of committing Jew-face. She tells him to stop worrying, have fun- and watch Carl Reiner and Mel Brooks doing their 1000 year old man schtick in order to get a line on the rhythms of Jewish comedy.

Funny old times we're going through- with everybody tiptoeing around everybody else in fear of causing offence- and far too many of us ready to go ballistic over the slightest cultural misstep- but we'll get through it and come out the other side and be easy with one another once again. Someone I was reading or listening to- I wish I could claim it as an original thought but I can't- not honestly- said humanity's at the pupal stage- where the caterpillar liquifies itself and starts again from scratch before emerging as a butterfly. Right now we're just goo- and it ain't pretty- but it'll be worth it in the end....

I got Wordle in two. I don't know how I did it. I had only one letter guessed right at my first attempt and it wasn't even in the right place.

We have sunshine, we have daffodils: what more could we possibly want?
