Just Over A Week To Halloween

Rainy, stormy night. Every so often I could hear- even feel- the house brace itself against the changes of pressure.

This summer I've been getting up at 7.00. Just recently that's changed to 7.15 or 7.30.

Yesterday the temperature was in the higher teens, this morning it has dropped to 10.

I doubted I'd be going out to work in the fields today, but then the sun came out.

We have a maple in the front lawn that's wonderful at this time of year- part green, part gold, like the faery tree in the Welsh legend that is half in leaf and half on fire.
