Swept the garage,
swept up the leaves that had accumulated and turned sodden in various nooks and crannies,
moved a pile of cardboard boxes from the garage to an outlying shed,
went and played around with my pond and got all muddy...
We'd been collecting cardboard boxes for my sister- who has just moved house. She took what she wanted and the pile she left behind constituted a fire hazard. They still constitute a fire hazard in their new location but at least they're no longer sitting next to an oil tank. Monty Don says you can add cardboard to your compost heap- and that's what I'll be doing eventually... but the thought of tearing all those boxes into bite-sized pieces to make life easier for the worms makes my heart sink a little- and I'm not going to do it all at once...
