End Of A Heatwave

They said there'd be thunderstorms- and so there were- but not here. One came close; I watched it making its way along the north-western horizon, deeply purple and muttering as it went. Did we have rain overnight? I'm not sure. Obviously if we did it wasn't very much. The temperature has dropped- and if we don't have showers some time today it'll be odd.

Since writing that first paragraph I've stepped outside and while it's not exactly raining the air is full of moisture...
