August, Hair Afloat In Filmy Fire

It's mid morning- and the temperature is rising again.

The Met Office recorded a high of 37C on Friday. This was at Heathrow. Our instruments- which I'll concede may be less finely calibrated than theirs- said it went well over 40C.

We've been warned there could be a water shortage- which is why we turned the tap off after we'd put a couple of inches in the kids' paddling pool.

There's a weather warning for Monday and Tuesday- thunder and lightning but little chance of rain...
