A Close Shave

Julia tells me that the other week (when she and Matthew and the gang were hacking up the garden) she was only just in time to stop Matthew and his strimmer from laying waste to the clump of weeds where the peacock butterfly catterpillars were.

A few weeks further on and the thistles in the clump are in flower and smell wonderful- and the bees and butterflies- including peacocks- are clambering all over them.
