Moving Into Winter... [Sep. 7th, 2019|10:00 am]
Tony Grist
We ordered hanging baskets from an online supplier and they also sent us two trays of pansies as a free gift. I've filled two baskets and two patches of flowerbed with them. They'll provide a few splashes of winter colour.

Just over a week ago we were enjoying- or sweating- under a heatwave. Now there's a nip in the air. Autumn has been creeping up on us for a while now but it still surprised me the other night when I was going to bed and registered that it was no longer daylight- or even twilight- but that the stars were out.

pansies were my maternal grandmother's favorite flower. I'll bet they are sweet, winking at you from the planters and the flowerbed.

We have had some cool night (good sleeping!) and people are using the word 'fall' but we could still and probably will have some warmer temps (80's, F)

I like pansies too.

These have yet to flower. At present they're just inch high bundles of greenery.

Yep, quite a severe change.

It's warm in the sun- but then it's been cloudy most of the day...
