Serves Me Right

A few hours after posting mean things about my father-in-law I was down on my knees in front of him, helping him into his pyjamas. Ha!

My mother-in-law had been ill all day. She called us at 7.00- and we went round to do what we could to help. One of the things we did was undress Eric. Another was go fetch her the plain biscuits which were the only things she could face eating. In the Tesco Express car park a young woman walked out in front of the car without looking. She was so preoccupied she didn't even notice she'd nearly been flattened. A minute later (Ailz says, I was in the shop looking for biscuits) she came out of the shop with something hidden under her coat that hadn't been through check-out.

Tesco Express didn't have any plain biscuits. It had chocolate biscuits and custard creams and all that sort of thing (biscuits you give the kids when you and they are desperate) but no arrowroot thins or rich tea- so we we had to traipse into town to Sainsbury's. While we were there we also bought diesel. I spent £!0 10p which (according to the gauge in the car) purchased us exactly 100 miles worth. I thought that was neat.

When we got home Ailz's mother-in-law rang again to say she was dizzy. Ailz said she would be with all the anti-emetics she'd been eating. We told her to go to bed.
