Nevermore [Feb. 17th, 2019|12:53 pm]
Tony Grist
Dorothy used to ring us up Sunday lunchtime, almost as regular as clockwork.

For a split second earlier today, when I was in the toilet as it happens, I had the fleeting thought that something I was expecting to happen hadn't happened yet. And then I remembered.

Some habitual happenings take a long time to fade away and Dorothy hasn't been gone more than a very short while. I still half expect to get a Christmas card from my mother and it's been 22 years since she died.
