So, What Does It Mean to Dream Of Michael Caine? [Nov. 20th, 2018|08:26 am]
Tony Grist
I dream that I'm watching a cult TV show from the 60s, starring Michael Caine as Sidley- the detective who takes cases no-one else will touch. Women throw knives at one another across a central London street, a half-naked man who is impersonating Sidley jumps from a multi-storey car park, gets his busby caught on some snag or other and is catapulted into space when the chinstrap stretches and rebounds and Sidley, waiting in a bus queue, has an electric razor delivered to him because he hasn't shaved for a couple of hours and needs to feel "smooth".

What Does It Mean to Dream Of Michael Caine?

I dream I'm watching a 60s cult TV show
and there he is: Michael Caine,
as Sidley--- the detective who takes
cases no-one else will touch.
Women throw knives at one another
across a central London street,
a half-naked man impersonating Sidley
jumps from a multi-storey car park,
gets his busby caught on some snag
and is catapulted into space, when the chinstrap
stretches and rebounds and Sidley, waiting
in a bus queue, has an electric razor delivered to him
because he hasn't shaved for a couple of hours,
and, whatever all, Sidley has to be smooth.

Re: your title seemed like a poem was coming

I like what you've done with it. :)

I hadn't thought of it as a poem but, why not?

Dreaming of Michael Caine alone means you have good taste in actors. However, your "interesting" combination of ideas, perhas an underdone potato, Mr. Scrooge?

I think the man jumping of the multi-story car park relates to a scene from Get Carter.

Caine is a wonderful actor. He's made some lousy films but I don't think he's ever given a bad performance.

or an undigested piece of beef....
I agree with idahoswede, you have good taste in actors. He's been all over the place lately with the release of his new book, perhaps that has something to do with it.

I like him a lot- as an actor and as a man- but I don't think I've been thinking about him more than usual.

Excuse me but I think that dream was meant to be delivered to me.

Sorry about that. I tried forwarding it only it sort of dissolved in my hands.
