Seaford [Jun. 24th, 2018|09:11 am]
Tony Grist
We have now scouted out all the towns on the East Sussex coast to which we might one day move. Seaford was the last of them.

Seaford is small. It has a history. There's a long shingle beach, bounded by the chalk cliffs of the Seven Sisters to the East and the Newhaven peninsula to the West. It never seems to have tried very hard to promote itself as a holiday resort, but there are beach huts and a beach café- and as much sea and sky as you could possibly gaze at and still retain your eyesight. Turn inland and you're in among the South Downs- with Alfriston, (which is madly pretty) just a few miles away.

It ain't expensive. We could afford an apartment with a sea view....

An old friend from university has bought a house in Seaford. They're in the process of gradually moving there from Croydon. By which I mean friend's husband is semi-retired and winding down into full retirement, at which point they will move there permanently.

Seaford looks very interesting, with history, and has such a beautiful seascape! The Downs being behind the town is a massive bonus. I can see the attraction. Jenny x

It is also ideal to get to Brighton without living in Brighton.

There's that as well. I like Brighton but I don't think I want to live there.

It's a small town- hardly more than a village. Pretty but not too pretty if you know what I mean. It's attractive but not putting on a show.
