Tweet, Tweet... [Apr. 12th, 2018|11:52 am]
Tony Grist
The president, sitting alone in his room (possibly in bed) lets fly an incendiary tweet, threatening the end of the world.

His minders go, "Not again" and gather round him murmuring, "Actually, Mr President..."

His next tweet, while unrepentant, says (in so many words) "Ha ha, Got you going there..."

One of those who were got going was our own Mrs May. Yesterday she was all for tagging along at the heels of the Four Horsemen. Today she has to explain why, on reflection, and after consultation....

At some level, I've been wondering if Trump and Putin put their heads together behind the scenes to prank May. Not realistically likely, I suppose, but just as Trump did the chest-pounding display with Kim Jong Un and now all is lovely in the garden, I wonder if Trump and Putin will be on chummy terms shortly, with the threat of war evaporated.

I think politics only makes sense these days if you view it as a raree-show, or perhaps a three-ring circus.

Trump and Putin are two very odd men. I think it's quite possible that all the shouting and grandstanding is for public consumption- and behind the scenes they're talking amicably.

They are, and Putin at least is reputed to be fond of some types of practical jokes. It makes me wonder.

Trump is a chaotic personality- an angry old man reacting to immediate stimuli and not thinking beyond the moment- but I don't think he's really running things.
