I'm reserving judgement on who was to blame for the Salisbury poisoning, partly because I have not yet seen a coherent timeline. If the Skripals were poisoned by the nerve agent on their door handle, why did they not succumb immediately? What is more, if they were poisoned by the door handle and for some strange reason it took a couple of hours to affect them, how come the detective who went to help them succumbed right away and was taken with them to hospital?

Nothing makes sense and until it does, I'm keeping an open mind as to who was responsible.

I wonder whether Yulia Skripal will be allowed to speak freely- and whether she knows anything anyway.

This morning, I had a revelation and I do now have a theory that explains everything, assuming the snippets published by the press are correct and not just wild speculation. I am unwilling to post it publicly but I await further developments with interest. I am a fan of the cock up theory of history rather than looking for complex conspiracies and the news that Skripal's cat and guinea pig have died fits my theory perfectly.

It seems as though the security people sealed them up inside the house. The guinea pig died of thirst and the cat was so distressed that the vet it was handed over to put it to sleep.

Sounds like a case for the RSPCA.

That's awful! Definitely a case for the RSPCA. If they died of thirst, that doesn't actually bolster my theory after all, but it doesn't contradict it either. I'm intrigued as to what will happen next because if I'm right, and it's a big "if", then our security forces and politicians have cocked up big time and it will be interesting to see how they wriggle out of it.

I think our chaps have overreached themselves.

If the outcome is Boris Johnson having to resign I wouldn't be sorry.

There are plenty of things to wonder about, for sure, including the very certainty with which conclusions have been announced.

I believe there's all sorts going on behind the curtain.
