When I used to sing in choirs, we always sang Lo How a Rose this time of year. Your post reminded me of that, and I thank you.

I don't think I know that one.

I was looking for settings of "There is no Rose" and there's one by Britten, one by Joubert and another by Sting.

Here's a version of Lo, how a rose e'er bloooming by the Mormon Tabernacle Choir:


It took some determined sampling, but I found a version of "There is no rose" that is the real deal and not some modern thing.

There are several settings of the carol- all modern. One of them is by Sting (of all people).
