Cutting The Grass [Jul. 19th, 2017|12:07 pm]
Tony Grist
You take out the old albums to look at something and- you know- other things catch your eye.

Here's my father cutting the lawn in his business suit in the Spring of 1973. It was a new mower and I suppose it had just been delivered and he couldn't wait before trying it out.

P.S. This was at the house they lived in before moving to the farm.

New toy for your dad!
:)
I don't think I've ever seen a riding mower like that one.

My father loved his mowers. He was constantly updating to the latest- state of the art- model.

I suppose my mother should get the credit for taking it.

And your dad for being such an excellent model.

What a wonderful picture. I imagine the suit is part of the point of buying a riding mower- that you can get the job done and still wear one. :)

I suppose that's the case. :)

My father was an engineer and loved his mechanical gizmos.

Oh, how very English. And I'm envious of a riding reel mower. (Or would be if I had a lawn to mow.) I think they're easier on the grass than those rotary things.
