|A War Movie A Little Muddled

I dreamed I was parachuting into occupied France on a secret mission or- possibly- escaping from Colditz Castle. Either way I was faced with making a daring descent from somewhere very high up. Having worried myself sick about this I jumped forward in time and found myself in Paris, dodging Austrian troops with the help of my contacts in the Resistance. I knew that I would be safe- or at least safer- if I could manage to make my way south to Bourges...|
Funny- I'm in the middle of reading a book in French about a stuffed elephant that resides the museum in Bourges- name of Hans! :o)
I don't know where Bourges came from. I don't think I've ever been there. Leastways I don't have any significant associations with it.
Maybe you should go there some time to see the elephant! :o)
I've just been to the Museum website- and see he's a late 18th century elephant. That's quite something. Taxidermy rarely lasts that long.
Hans and his mate Parkie were quite famous in their day.
If you read French I can give you the book's title.
Go on then....
I was reading about dodos the other day. Apparently all the stuffed specimens are recent fakes because the authentic specimens fell apart years ago.
Its by Philippe Candegabe and is called:
'L'incroyable histoire de l'éléphant Hans'.
I'm finding it an intriguing and fun read.
