White Coat Syndrome [Mar. 11th, 2017|09:55 am]
Tony Grist
When I went for a health check last month the doctor raised an eyebrow at my blood pressure and suggested I get checked out by the practice nurse- which I duly did yesterday. The doctor ran the test three times to be sure of her findings and the nurse ran it just the once and pronounced me well within acceptable parameters. What this shows, I suppose, is that I'm less afraid of nurses than I am of doctors.

I also suffer from both white coat syndrome and raised bp and I also prefer nurses as it doesn't get raised by them!

I shouldn't have been frightened of the doctor- who was a very pleasant Asian lady- but I suppose I must have been.

I have been since back when I was dealing with stuff and at least two GPs overstepped the boundaries considerably.

I don't think I've ever trusted doctors very much. I don't really know why.
