Granny's Photo Stash 5 [Feb. 1st, 2017|02:51 pm]
Tony Grist
My granny as a little girl, with her brothers (presumably) There's a note on the back that says "Tuesday afternoon" but doesn't give the date.

A very interesting staged portrait. It reminds me somehow of the portrait of Christopher Robin Milne or from around that time.

Yes, I don't suppose they were always so well behaved.

This'll be rather earlier than the Milne pictures. I don't know the date exactly but I'm guessing c. 1890. These children were all young adults when the Great War broke out.

so tell me, does the carpet cover the rabbit hole? For your Granny looks very much like Alice, to me.

So formal!

I love photographic portraits from this period.

Long exposure times. If the kids hadn't been sitting still they'd have been a blur.
