A Change Of Circumstances

For the last two or three years we've employed a carer who came in every morning for an hour- six days a week- to get my mother washed and dressed- and stayed all day if we wanted her to. Quite often she cooked my mother's lunch. The carer- who had been a nurse and then an agency worker- spoke of this arrangement as her "dream job". Her day off was covered by an agency.

Well that's all over now.

And we're getting an agency carer in every day. It's a good agency and it employs good carers- but it keeps sending different ones and it's unlikely we'll develop a close relationship with any of them.

And that's the situation...
