A Change Of Style

According to Peter Oborne in The Mail (he doesn't give a source) Theresa May's parting words to George Osborne after she sacked him were, "Go away and learn some emotional intelligence."

In so doing she spoke for England.

It's one of the pleasures of the post-Brexit era that almost no-one who was making political headlines before the referendum is still in power. Cameron is no longer even an MP, Farage has stood down as party leader, Osborne and Gove are out of office. Of the bigger Brexiteers only Johnson has a job in government- but not the job he coveted.

The people in charge are still tories- but they're a quieter, less Bullingdon kind of tory. They don't stink up the media the way the old lot did.
