Nigel Farage just couldn't help himself- and released a poster that was all about race.
The parties of the left have been playing awkward second fiddle. I like Jeremy Corbyn but he hasn't shown any leadership. "The EU is horrible but it's better than the alternative" is hardly a rallying cry.
Labour and the Conservatives are both going to come out of the campaign damaged.
This hasn't been about party. Generally speaking those who have prospered in recent years are in favour of the EU, those who haven't are against it.
The leadership of the one camp is made up of establishment smoothies, the leadership of the other is made up of odd bods. I don't think I need to spell out which is which.
Whichever way we vote a bunch of Tories is going to have won.
I keep thinking "Sow the wind and reap the whirlwind". The vote will settle nothing very much. The government will still be divided, the fight will carry on, heads will roll- and the EU will totter from crisis to crisis. I hesitate to use the word "anarchy" but it keeps thrusting itself forward so I shall.
