Paris, like London, has a history of being a terrorist target since the middle of the last century. This is nothing new, just on a larger scale. And yet, the Ville de Lumière will go on much as it always has.
Daesh, Real IRA, whatever. Cities - and their populations - are strong.
It did, though, tug at my heart strings to see a thing like this unfold in a city I used to call home... Much as the London bombings in 2005 did. Or the shootings in Copenhagen this spring. It's always horrid to wait for friends to give word that they are safe.
