Sick Heart River: John Buchan [Jun. 20th, 2015|07:01 pm]
Tony Grist
Sir Edward Leithen- suffering from incurable TB and hoping to die on his feet- undertakes a search for a missing man in the Canadian Arctic.  This- though I don't think he knew it- was to be Buchan's final novel. Sombre, philosophical and rather beautiful, it makes a fitting last testament.

I don't think I've read this one - and Arctic Buchan sounds irresistible.

It has huskies in it. And planes.

Buchan is very good on landscape. He makes you see and feel "The North".
