Weather [Jun. 13th, 2015|09:46 am]

They promised us a tropical storm and they weren't wrong. The air grew still and heavy, thunder advanced, passed overhead- and the rain came bucketing down. Afterwards the fields were carpeted in mist.

Nothing quite so dramatic here, though admittedly, I wouldn't readily get to see such rising mist here anyway. It simply started bucketing down in the early hours, and apparently finished long before I awoke.

The resulting scene reminds me of this moment from a few years back - there, it'd been quite a warm day, leading to a heavy, short downpour, with the rain merrily steaming upward once it had the chance.

I like the photo.

Once the storm arrived it only lasted for about 15 minutes. It was a short, sharp shock.

There's a lot to be said for that kind of decisive rain. ^_^ The UK's usual style, though, tends more toward the day-long piddling, thereby proving that if there were any deities, they're clearly of mycological origin.
