Winding Up The Festivities [Jan. 2nd, 2015|11:16 am]
Tony Grist
Ailz thinks the critters in the attic may be pigeons. They work to the sun. We hear them going to bed at night and getting up very early in the morning. That doesn't sound like rats, does it?

No matter, whatever they are- rats, mice, pigeons- the cat we've got coming will keep them in their place. Ailz was buying stuff from Littlewoods and Argos this morning- a cat bed, a litter box, a bag of litter- and so on.

Mike and Su-Young are coming to lunch today and Ailz is baking an enormous pie. This is the last of our seasonal dates. After today the Christmas tree will be coming down and I'll be sizing up 2015 and seeing whether I like the cut of its jib.

Is Ailz killing two birds with one stone, as 'twere, by putting the pigeons in the pie? ;-)

I'm excited about your cat, anyway. I hope it will be friendly enough for you to take some nice pictures of it.

First catch your pigeon....

My father had a shotgun but the police took it off him.

Oh yes, when the time comes there will be cat pictures. This is the internet, innit!

If you haven't tried it, that new silica litter is THE BEST EVER stuff. Lasts a month with 2 cats, really keeps any smell to almost non-existent.

I think of pigeons as rats with wings. :-)

Best wishes with the cat, I hope you find one with an interesting personality.

Pigeons are intelligent, though. It's the only bird and one of the very few animals that can recognise its own reflection.

I'm excited about your cat, too. Probably a lot more excited than you are.
