Living With Wild Nature

The grass in the lower field is now so tall and thick I can no longer just stroll across it but have to keep pausing to pick out a route.

Last year we had roughly equal numbers of blue tits, great tits and coal tits; this year the blue tits predominate- hugely.

A young nuthatch thumped into one of the plate glass windows this morning. I picked it up and it didn't seem damaged so I put it on a fence post to get its breath back. I didn't stay to see if it flew away (breakfast was imminent) but I think it did.

The hanging feeder has fallen apart as a result of its harsh treatment at the claws or paws of whatever it is.
