There was a chap on TV last night talking about rainfall levels in "the last century" and it took me a moment to realize- or remember- that he didn't mean the 1800s.

I keep dipping back into the Great War and the 1920s with H.G. Wells.

Wells- unexpectedly- writes very well about that period.
