We drove to Hastings on Saturday to see the sea and got out of the car to be hit by a tremendous- but passing- rain storm with hailstones mixed in.  A very similar storm hit us yesterday morning, after the washing had been out on the line for a couple of hours.

Last night it mostly rained.

This morning is bright and sunny, scarcely a cloud in the sky. I've been moving the tomato plants (which my mother tended lovingly through the summer- and with excellent results) off the patio and onto the compost heap- with the pots and bamboo canes laid aside for next year.
