Well, you are very lucky to live in a lovely house in Kent, but nobody is lucky to live with a parent beyond the age of 18!
On the one hand, this, on the other hand, that.
Living with my mother is like living with a small child- only without the joy of seeing it learn and develop.
I completely understand that. Mine was also bigoted, small minded and hypercritical...
My mother's a nice person- but we have very little in common. And she's besotted with racing-which leaves me cold.
I do get the distinct impression that you two need a break from the constant demands of elderly relatives!
watch out for that third accident.........
Earlier this year I was thinking we'd take a holiday all by ourselves around this time, but we don't seem to have been able to fit it in :(
You've been under a lot of pressure for some time now. At least you know to walk away and take a deep breath.
Exactly what I was thinking.
Good for you for being able to remove yourself for a bit. I do hope the stress eases soon.
Well, to be honest, a laptop is a pricey item, so getting a little hot under the collar because you aren't sure if it might be broken really is understandable.
Not at Ailz specifically, just at the accident in general, of course.

Oddly enough it was the cream that really upset me. It seemed such a waste. The laptop was just one more rotten thing. I was already as upset as I was going to get.
I hadn't realized I was so close to the edge...
At least you have unexpected apples. And you didn't bite Ailz's head off, which is important.
They're excellent apples. Very small, but crisp and sharp- just as I like them.
Funny how one doesn't think one is quite that close to the edge and then something minor makes you realize you are going to completely lose it if anything else happens. Not fun. I am glad you found apples.
I don't think the edge is altogether such a bad place to be. It's interesting, anyway. And one knows one is alive.
