Not Really A Secret [Mar. 30th, 2013|10:40 am]
Tony Grist
"Identity of celebrity arrested by Savile police remains secret" says the Daily Mail.

Only it's not really a secret (is it?) because the Mail knows (they've been door-stepping the man's house and ringing his lawyers) and so does everybody else who has chosen to research the story on-line. It's a weird place we're in right now where the mainstream media feel unable to divulge information that is being widely reported elsewhere.

It makes you wonder what newspapers are for.....

After the Meadows case, I know what they're for (in truth I've known for decades) the dissemination of hate, prejudice and bigotry but what would I know? I'm just one of the victims...............

All of which serves the interests of the people who run (or would like to run) our society. Newspapers are part of the system of bread and circuses that keeps us from noticing what is really going on. We are offered sacrificial victims (mostly fairly powerless) so that the major criminals can carry on regardless.
