Frantic [Dec. 22nd, 2017|07:23 pm]
Tony Grist
It was billed as frantic Friday- with cars clogging the roads as people rushed to get away- somewhere- anywhere- for Christmas- only it wasn't frantic at all- not on the route we travelled, which included a stretch of the M25 and a trek through north London. If anything things were quieter than usual.

Which raises the question- was the forecast  wrong or did it scare people into staying at home?

Or that they decided that they wouldleave it a day till the weekend, or that they are feeling the pinch financially.

Same here... But I expect all the holiday cottage owners will be pouring into Dorset sometime later today.

It annoys me how the media overdramatise everything.

It drives me up the wall. Just once I would like the local paper not to the have the word "HORROR" in its headline.

Christmas is on a Monday, leaving people with a number of choices for departure date.

I am very very VERY glad we don't have cable, so we don't watch television. They are the worst!

We wouldn't watch TV if it wasn't for my mother.
