Whoosh! [Nov. 7th, 2017|04:05 pm]
Tony Grist
Julia introduced her terrier to the rats who live in the flower bed next to the bird feeder. He was too noisy and clumsy to catch any of them but I've never seen anything like the way they ran- three of them- flat out- in a straight line- as if legs didn't come into it- like slugs from a gun.

By the time he'd worked out they were no longer lingering in the vicinity of their old homestead they could have been two fields away.

A dog achieves what a cat can't...
Well, now that says a lot (about the cat).

The cat didn't even try.

I believe he thought it beneath his dignity.

Well, if he starts loving lasagne, then you know what you've subscribed to...

I haven't tried him with lasagne but he's very fond of cheese.

I've always had terriers and they can be incredibly effective ratters and when they're not they are so enthusiastic about it.

Julia has to keep Badger on a lead when he's ratting or else he'd disappear down the hole and never be seen again.

Badger...what a perfect name for a terrier!

He has a companion of the same breed called Rosie- perhaps not quite as appropriate.
